(BEIJING, September 13) -- The extension work for Laoshan Mountain Bike Course completed recently, and it is now ready for the forthcoming "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Mountain Bike Invitational Competition on September 22, 2007.
The zigzag and sloping path will challenge the mountain cyclist's skills and confidence and provide the audience with a brilliant international cycling show.
The course, an existing competition venue, started its renovation and expansion program on May 31, 2006 for the 2008 Olympic Games.
Located in the Laoshan area of Shijingshan District in western Beijing, the project involves a competition course of 4.6 kilometers in circumference, a fixed building with a floor space of 8,275 square meters, as well as other temporary facilities for competition service.
Adjacent to the Fifth Ring Road in the west and neighboring Shijingshan Amusement Park, the course features easy access to the subway and road transportation.
