(BEIJING, October 23) -- Some 40 venue management and operations personnel from the Fencing Hall at the National Convention Center recently toured the athletic training base for people with a disability in Beijing.
During the visit, they observed training and competitions in wheelchair fencing, boccia and goalball and toured and reviewed the construction of the barrier-free amenities and sports facilities. In addition, they heard lectures on competition operations and the regulations and qualities specific to sports for people with a disability.
The visiting personnel got a first-hand look at the operations management of sports for people with a disability.
Following this experience, the management and operations personnel from the Fencing Hall plan to organize workshops to train the entire Fencing Hall staff on services for athletes with a disability.
The Wheelchair Fencing and Boccia competitions of the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games will be held at the Fencing Hall at the National Convention Center.
