Competition Rules

The hockey competition at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games will be held in accordance with the Rules of Hockey and the Tournament Regulations for a Two-pool Competition of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) and with the Olympic Charter, in force at the time of the 2008 Olympic Games.

Pursuant to the Olympic Charter, FIH assumes the responsibility for the technical control and direction of Hockey in the Olympic Games.

Appointment of International Technical Officials

FIH will be responsible for appointing all the international technical officials

(ITOs) for the hockey competition, the number being based upon the quota set out by the IOC.
