Metal scale models of the 'Bird's Nest' made available on 19th

(BEIJING, September 17) -- Metal scale models of the "Bird's Nest" -- the National Stadium -- will be launched on the market on September 19.

The models for the Olympic centerpiece will be gold- and tin-plated, outlining the detailed structure of the stadium, including the entrances and stairways, as well as the surrounding landscape.

The models will be made available in three different sizes -- small, medium and large, with prices ranging from 900 yuan (120 US dollars) to 4,000 yuan (530 US dollars). The escutcheons of the latter two types will be made of spare steel products from the stadium.

The product will be sold nationwide at Olympic-licensed stores.
