Wang Wei

Wang Wei serves as Executive Vice President and Secretary General of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) and Vice Chairman of All-China Sports Federation.
Born in Tianjin, in October 1950, Wang holds a Master's degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey.
Wang's early years of professional career largely involved Beijing Normal College (now the Capital Normal University), where he worked as Deputy Dean of English Dept. and of International Cultural Exchange Dept., Deputy Party Secretary and later Vice Principal of the university.
Wang had also worked as instructor at company level in Heilongjiang Production and Construction Corps., Deputy Director of Beijing Municipal Higher Education Bureau, General Secretary of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission and Associate Secretary General of the Beijing Municipal Government.
Prior to his current appointment, Wang served as Secretary General of Beijing 2008 Olympic Bid Committee, BOCOG Vice-President and Secretary General.
