Chinese retailers could be fined up to 10,000 RMB yuan (1,428 U.S. dollars) for providing shoppers with free plastic shopping bags from June 1, the Ministry of Commerce has announced. Environment-friendly shopping bags are sold in stores in Shanghai ever since. [Full story]
