Heavy rain showers cause changes in the competition schedule

(BEIJING, August 15) -- During the seventh joint IOC/BOCOG press conference on Games-time operations, BOCOG's executive vice-president and secretary general Mr. Wang Wei related information about the readjustments in the competition schedules due to competition cancelations after heavy rain storms on Thursday, August 14.

The schedule changes are as follows:

Rowing: The competitions have been rescheduled for August 15, but the start time remains unchanged.

Baseball: Daytime matches held on August 14 were suspended. The match between China and the Republic of Korea has been rescheduled for August 17 at 18:00.

Softball: The matches during the day were suspended. The match between the United States and Canada has been rescheduled for August 15. It will begin 30 minutes after the end of the 14th match (USA - Japan).

Canoe /Kayak-Slalom: Unfinished competitions have been rescheduled for August 15 at 15:00. These competitions include Kayak (K1) Women's semifinals, Canoe Double (C2) Men's final and Kayak (K1) Women's final.

Beach Volleyball: The Beach Volleyball events for the Men's 1/16 round and the Women's 1/16 round were originally scheduled for August 15 and 16. According to the new schedule, the Women's 1/16 round will be held on August 15, and the Men's game will be held on August 16.

Tennis: The Women's Double semifinal has been rescheduled for August 16 at the originally scheduled start time. The Women's Double bronze medal match has been rescheduled for August 17 at 14:30 instead of 16:00 as was listed on the original schedule.

Tickets for the original competitions may still be used to gain entrance to the rescheduled competitions.
