(BEIJING, August 25) -- BOCOG President Liu Qi met with US Secretary of Health and Human Services Michael Leavitt and a visiting delegation here on the morning of August 25.

Liu congratulated the US delegation on their excellent results in the Olympic Games, which successfully concluded on Sunday.

Leavitt has made constructive contributions to public health exchange and cooperation between the United States and China since he took his post in 2005. Liu expressed hope that the two nations could further enhance their endeavors to strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

Leavitt congratulated China on the success of the Beijing Olympic Games, which offered a marvelous display of China's ancient culture. Beijing delivered on its commitment and presented to the world marvelous Olympic Games.

The two parties exchanged the torches of the Beijing Olympic Games and the Salt Lake 2002 Winter Olympic Games.

Also present was Wang Wei, BOCOG executive vice-president and secretary general.
