(BEIJING, August 22) -- As of August 21, eighty sports delegations won Olympic medals and thirty-seven world records were broken, according to information released at a joint IOC/BOCOG press conference held on the morning of August 22.

There have been a total of 237 gold medals, 238 silvers and 273 bronze medals awarded thus far in the Games. Delegations from a total of 50 different countries and regions have taken one or more gold medals. And so far, a total of 80 countries and regions have won Olympic medals in the Beijing 2008 Games.
