(BEIJING, October 12) -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) has emphasized the importance of building good venue teams to ensure the success of the Olympics.

To build a competent team, five points should be underlined, according to Lu Xiwen, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee.

First, she told a meeting on the subject on Friday, a plan of the venue teams should be drawn up on time; second, the duties of the staff members should be identified to ensure smooth venue operations; third, the directors or managers of the teams should be held responsible for the operations of the venues, and they should push the connection of the operations inside and outside the venues and make the logistics available; fourth, various norms and regulations should be set and the check and acceptance procedure should be standardized; and last, training should be enhanced to promote the Olympic spirit among the staff.

She said the principle of venue team building is to take competitions as the teams' essential work, make the venues as their bases and the venue owners as their logistics providers.
