Buenos Aires Elected as the Host City for 2018 Summer Youth Olympics

July 4 (Reuters) - The 2018 Summer Youth Olympics will be hosted by the city of Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced in Lausanne, Switzerland.


IOC held a special meeting in Lausanne on the issue about the host city of 2018 Summer Youth Olympics, the three Candidate Cities are: Buenos Aires (Argentina), Glasgow (Britain) and Medellín (Colombia). President Jacques Rogge announced that the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics will be hosted by the city of Buenos Aires after two rounds of voting.


Jacques Rogge showed that he has no doubt they will build on the successes of Singapore 2010 and Nanjing 2014 to provide a platform on which the best young athletes from around the world can compete and learn about the Olympic values.
