BOCOG briefs FINA director on Olympic preparations

The two sides exchange views on Olympic preparations.

(BEIJING, March 28) -- Executive Director of the International Swimming Federation (FINA) Cornel Marculescu visited the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) this morning, debriefing on the preparatory work for the 2008 Olympic Games.

BOCOG officials in charge of sports, media operations, accommodation, transport and accreditation gave details on the preparations, while BOCOG Venue Planning and Construction Department and designers of the National Aquatics Center, dubbed water cube, exchanged views with the guest.

Before the working session, BOCOG Executive Vice President Yang Shu'an met with Marculescu.

Marculescu last toured Beijing in December 2005. The visit today is to get updated on the preparations for the sport of Olympic swimming.
