(BEIJING, Dec. 21) -- The Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the
XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) held the 10th event of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games
Partner Club today. With Christmas and the New Year approaching, such an event
is aimed to extend BOCOG's appreciation of the important contributions by the
Partners and to facilitate better communication in the coming year.
Director of the Marketing Department of BOCOG Mrs. Yuan Bin addressed an
audience composed of representatives from the 11 Worldwide Olympic Partners and
11 Beijing 2008 Partners, and the officials from related BOCOG departments,
saying that the Partners have provided solid support for the Beijing Olympic
preparation in the year 2006. BOCOG is committed to further enhancing its
sponsor serving work and maximizing returns for Partners' investment in the
Beijing Games so as to create a win-win situation.
During the event, BOCOG Marketing Department briefed the Partners on the
latest development of Olympic preparation including marketing. BOCOG made
sponsor servicing a central topic of this event in an effort to exchange views
with and collect suggestions from the Partners.
The Partner Club, formed on February 2, 2005, is an invention by BOCOG and
has served as an important channel for the Partners to share information and
experience. Up to date, club members like Lenovo, Volkswagen, Kodak, adidas,
China Network and General Electric have each organized a special event with
focused topics. More activities are to be added into the schedule.
