(BEIJING, June 6) -- The venue operation team for the judo and taekwondo competitions in the 2008 Olympic Games was formed on Wednesday.

A ceremony to unveil the team's nameplate was held at the Gymnasium of Beijing Science and Technology University. The venue for the Olympic judo and taekwondo events is one of the six Olympic venues to be built in Beijing's university area.

Construction of the project started in November 2005. The gymnasium has a land surface of 24,662 square meters and a capacity of 8,000 seats.
