(BEIJING, June 4) -- To mark the World Environment
Day, various activities were held in China's capital city on Sunday.
At Dongdan intersection, volunteers taught passersby the nuts and bolts of
trash sorting and recycling, so that these could be seen putting their used
plastic bottles or batteries into separate containers.
The pupils of Xiaowei Elementary School in Dongcheng District clothed
themselves in abandoned plastic bags and newspapers and called on passerby to
save energy, cut carbon dioxide emissions and protect the environment.
