TURIN, Italy, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- The ticket sales of the Turino 2007 Winter Universiade hit 100,000, the organizing committee announced here on Tuesday.

The most popular events are figure skating, ice hockey and speed skating, for which just a few tickets are still available with 24 hours before the official opening of the Games.

Alpine skiing will kick of the first-day competitions with the opening ceremony to be staged at the Pala Olimpico Isozaki on 8:00p.m.
