Students participate in the water-saving campaign.

From July 7th to October 27th, as component of 2005 Red Bow Tie Green Olympics Actions, the activity entitled "Reserve a Barrel of Water this Summer" was organized by the Youth League Beijing Municipal Committee, the Young Pioneers Beijing Working Committee and BOCOG Environmental Activity Department (EAD), which is sponsored by Coco-Cola (China) Beverage Ltd. and co-organized by newspaper - the First.

The activity was launched in the young pioneers systems of the primary schools in the 18 districts and counties throughout Beijing, calling for all the pupils to collect at least a barrel of rainwater during the summer holidays. In addition, other water saving activities such as "Small Hands Joined with Big Hands" and contests on water saving articles and water saving methods are also organized. As a result, more and more people are inspired to involve in the environmental protection and contribute their efforts to the "Green Olympics".
