Progress made in the renovation and expansion programs:

1. Fengtai Softball Field

Fengtai Softball Field is ready for use.

2. Workers' Indoor Arena (WIA) and Workers' Stadium (WST)

The dismantlement and reinforcement work is being done.

3. Beijing Shooting Range CTF (BSF)

The construction work on the main structure, the marking pit and the field is underway.

4. Olympic Sports Center Stadium (OSS)，Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium (OSG), Ying Tung Natatorium (YTN) and Capital Indoor Stadium (CAS)

The structural reinforcement and expansion of the existing venues are in progress.

5. Laoshan Mountain Bike Course (LSC)

The basic construction of the Complex Service Building is being done.

6. Beihang University Gymnasium and Beijing Institute of Technology Gymnasium

The renovation and expansion work is expected to be launched by the end of 2006.

　Five of the eight temporary venues are under construction:

1. Fencing Hall (FCH) (in National Conference Centre):

Construction is being done in line with the National Conference Centre.

2. Chaoyang Park Beach Volleyball Ground:

Basic construction has been finished; the steel structures of the main competition ground are being installed.

3. Olympic Green Hockey Field and Wukesong Baseball Field

Basic construction has been completed.

4. Olympic Green Archery Field

Basic construction is underway.

Progress in other related projects:

1. National Conference Centre:

The concrete structure has been done; 60 per cent of the steel structure has been installed; work on the indoor secondary structure and the installation of the mechanical and electrical equipments are in remarkable progress.

2. Digital Beijing Building:

The main structure of the building was finished at the end of July; work on the secondary structure and the installation of mechanical and electrical equipments are being done.

3. The Olympic Village:

Among its four construction areas, the main structure of Area A has been completed; the underground structure of Area B and Area D has been completed; the surface structure of Area C is being done.

4. The Olympic Green:

While the excavation of the lake and the mound work have been finished, the re-plantation is still underway.

5. The Media Village:

The basic construction has been completed; the main structure is being constructed.
