| Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) will hold the First World Press Briefing in Beijing 25th-28th September 2006.
The World Press Briefing will provide international news organizations the ability to review first hand the preparations for the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. They will also receive comprehensive updates from BOCOG on the facilities and services that will be available for the accredited media who will cover the 2008 Olympic Games.
The agenda for the four days will include venue tours, inspections of accommodation facilities and a one day briefing which will include reports from BOCOG departments on the facilities and services planned for the media at the competition venues and Main Press Centre, as well as media accommodation, transport, accreditation, rate cards, technology, photo and Olympic news services.
Attendees will also be invited for city and urban tours of historical sites such as the Great Wall, the Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Hutong districts for photos and first-hand information about the Chinese capital, the country's history and culture, to assist the press with their pre-Games coverage.
BOCOG will utilize the ideas and suggestions proposed by the international press during the briefing to further define its media services and venue operation plans.
More than 100 delegates representing most of the world's major news agencies and newspapers, as well as major broadcast news organizations are expected to attend the briefing.
