   1. Environmental management system (EMS)

   1.1 ISO14001 Certificate


The certificate

   On Sept. 29, 2005, BOCOG passed ISO14001:1996 auditing and certification on environmental management system (EMS). The EMS involves work related to BOCOG Green Office, event route planning, venue planning, selection of partners, selection of contracted hotels, communication and report and environmental management.

   1.2 Operation and improvement

   In 2005, BOCOG developed Environmental Guidelines for Beijing Olympics Torch Relay, Environmental Guidelines for Beijing Olympics Procurement and other guidelines to further improve the EMS and ensure the Olympic preparation and key Olympic events in compliance with relevant environmental requirements.

   1.3 BOCOG won a gold prize for its contribution to the protection of the ozone layer



   On Sept. 16, 2005, BOCOG was honored a gold prize of the third annual Ozone Layer Protection Contribution Award by the State Environmental Protection Administration. BOCOG President Assistant Tu Mingde made a speech on behalf of BOCOG.
