(BEIJING, June 7) -- The headquarters for the construction of the Beijing-based Olympic projects has made a call on all the people involved in the building of the Olympic facilities to reinforce flood prevention measures.

At a recent mobilization meeting, the head of the headquarters' office requested the constructors to give priority to flood prevention and fighting. The workers need to take advantage of the rain season to examine the quality of their constructions and take measures to lessen the impact of heavy rains on construction speed.

The headquarters called on the workers to "put safety first" and work in line with the flood prevention plans drawn up by the headquarters. It especially targeted such areas as the projects located at the Olympic Green, the underground facilities, the roads and pipelines.

A total of 31 Olympic venues and a number of auxiliary buildings are located in Beijing and most of them should be completed at the end of 2007.
