(BEIJING, June 4) -- Liu Qi, president of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG) met with visiting Coca-Cola Chairman and CEO Edward Neville Isdell on Monday.

Praising Coca-Cola for its long partnership with the Olympic Games, Liu spoke highly of the company's remarkable contributions to the Olympic Movement and expressed his deep satisfaction for the excellent relations between Coca-Cola and BOCOG since Beijing's preparations for the next Summer Olympics started. BOCOG is quite anxious to expand the existing cooperation with Coca-Cola to stage successful Olympic Games, the president added.

In line with international practice and in conformity with Chinese laws and regulations, BOCOG will do its best to serve Coca-Cola and other partners better and safeguard their rights and interests, said Liu, who also updated his guest on the Olympic preparations.

The progress BOCOG has made so far is encouraging, said Isdell. Coca-Cola will do its utmost to help BOCOG hold a successful Olympiad, he added.

Present at the meeting was Wang Wei, BOCOG executive vice-president and secretary-general.
