(BEIJING, March 27) -- Thirty-four post-graduate students from the
Literature and Media Schools of Chongqing University have recently applied for
Olympic volunteer positions, Chongqing Times reported.
The group of hardworking and dedicated students from China's southwest are
conducting research on Olympic Marketing and plan to submit a joint thesis paper
to the Beijing Organizing Committee for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad (BOCOG).
CCY publishes Olympic volunteer proposal
Mr. Li Haoran, director of the literature school said that the school will
publish a proposal to call for wide involvement in the Olympic Volunteer
activities on its campus. "We have already seen the initial 34 first-year
graduates come to register."
He added, "as the students are majoring in news and communications, they are
interested in events like the Olympics".
Volunteer Service
Ms. Wei Shiping, Vice-Secretary of the literature school said, they are
carrying on a "Second Class" plan, accounting for six credits. "The volunteer
service is important to evaluate the students and the school will go on to
formulate an incitement program as part of their joint thesis work.
She added that volunteer activities will acquaint the students with the real
world and facilitate their future job-search.
Ms. Wei explained that the school will take good note of the volunteer
activities each student engages in. The students will get their graduation
certificate and academic certificate, as well as a "Second Class" practicing
certificate when they
graduate.
