Thirty plus foreign wives living in Shanghai volunteered together to knit sweaters, scarfs and stocking caps for the old and the young living in lean lives.

Most of the knitting donations were given as gifts or on sale of work for the poor.

"Our efforts make the life more colorful and meaningful, rather than mere money donation for the poor," they concluded.
