The Beijing Olympic Media Center serves as an important window for BOCOG and the Beijing municipal government to release information and a bridge linking Beijing with news media at home and abroad.

The center is responsible for providing a "one-stop service" for Chinese and overseas journalists covering Beijing and the preparatory work for the Beijing Olympic Games; accepting applications from foreign journalists planning to make temporary trips to Beijing to cover the Olympic Games and their preparatory work; holding the regular press conference at 3:00 p.m. every Wednesday (except for public holidays) as well as unscheduled press briefings; giving information about Olympic preparations and handing out publicity materials; and organizing regular press tours, news coverage and social gatherings.

The center has a press conference hall, interview rooms and a media gallery, plus a work room at Room 516 of Beijing Olympic Tower's affiliated building.

The center is located in Building B, Huabei Hotel, 19 Gulouwaidajie, Dongcheng District, Beijing.
