| Sunday, 29 August the final day of the Games of the XXVIII Olympiad! The greatest celebration of humanity today reaches its end and Athens bids a final farewell to the athletes and guests with a warm Closing Ceremony under Attica's full moon. Before the Closing Ceremony, though, 8 sports finals take place, including the Men's Marathon. Handball presents the first final of the day with the Women's Gold Medal Match at 10:45 and Taekwondo athletes give a fighting finish in the Men's Over 80kg Gold Medal Contest, being the last event. Meanwhile, medals will also be presented in the following sports: Boxing, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Handball, Water Polo and Wrestling. Today's programme features the Men's Marathon Race, covering its historic course of 42,195m and finishing at the Panathinaiko Stadium. Today's schedule is as follows: In Athletics, the starting point of the traditional Marathon Race is in Marathon, starting at 18:00. Thereon the finishing line is at the Panathinaikon Stadium, the famous Marble Stadium known as "Kallimarmaro" where the Games were revived in 1896, and then, the Medal Ceremony for the Marathon follows at the Olympic Stadium at 21:45. The Boxing competition is drawn to an end with six final bouts all in the men's categories of: Light Fly Weight (48kg), Bantam Weight (54kg), Light Weight (60kg), Welter Weight (69kg), Light Heavy Weight (81kg) and Super Heavy Weight (+91kg). The first of these events starts at 13:30 at the Peristeri Olympic Boxing Hall. At 15:30, the Galatsi Olympic Hall welcomes the Individual All-Around Final in Rhythmic Gymnastics. The Women's and Men's Gold Medal Matches in Handball, are going to take place at the Helliniko Indoor Arena at 10:45 and 16:45 respectively. Today's Taekwondo finals consist of the Women's Over 67kg Gold Medal Contest (18:20) and the Men's Over 80kg Gold Medal Contest (18:35) held at the Sports Pavillion of the Faliro Coastal Zone Olympic Complex. The Peace & Friendship Stadium hosts the Men's Volleyball final. The Men's Gold Medal Match between Italia and Brazil is due to start at 14:30. Another exciting match is scheduled in Water Polo. The Men's Gold Medal Game begins at 17:30 at the Main Pool of the Olympic Aquatic Centre (OAKA). Finally, the Olympic Wrestling Tournament draws its curtains hosting three finals, all starting at 14:00. Spectators at the Ano Liossia Olympic Hall can support their champions in the Men's Freestyle Gold Medal Matches of 60,74 and 96kg. © ATHOC
