Till Dec. 21, Beijing had already completed this year's mission of air quality protection. As a result, people in Beijing were able to see blue sky for a total of 230 days in 2005, the seventh year since 1999 to have the city's air quality improved. In these fine days, the city's air quality stood at the second best level or above according to the state standard. During the eleventh phase of Beijing's air pollution control this year, the city adopted a strategy to reduce the total amount of pollutants and made remarkable progress in limiting the automobiles' emission, flying dust pollution, industrial pollution and fuliginous pollution, and in ecological conservation and development.
