(BEIJING, March 24) -- China Agriculture University Gymnasium, one of
the six venues to be built within the university compounds for
the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, is expected to be completed in three months, an
official said.
Located in northwestern Beijing, the venue, to be used for Olympic wrestling
events, will become a multifunctional sport facility after the Games.
Some 80 percent of the roof plate installation has been finished and the
skeleton of the glass curtain walls has already been completed, said university
Vice-President Ma Yinsheng on Saturday. Ma believed that the Olympic facility
can benefit his university as well as the community nearby.
He disclosed that the Olympic wrestling athletes can use geothermal water to
take a bath as the teachers and students of the university do. In 2002, the
water was discovered in the university area where it was tested 49 degrees
Celsius.
